As a first year graduate student at the School of Aquatic and Fishery Sciences, the fellowship support I receive has helped me fulfill my goal of obtaining a doctorate degree from the University of Washington.
I now have the opportunity to work with one of the most renowned estuarine research scientists in the country, Charles "Si" Simenstad on issues related to Pacific Northwest fisheries.
I am currently working in the Columbia River estuary studying food web linkages of juvenile salmon. I cannot say enough about how important this support has been in furthering my education and inspiring me to succeed.
