Admission to University Honors

Students interested in pursuing the four-year program need to be admitted to UW Honors either at the time of admission or, typically, during their freshman year. It is highly advised that these interested students note on their admissions application their desire to be considered for UW Honors.

Students who do not apply at the point of admission but would still like to apply for UW Honors early in their academic career may still do so. Please review the following:

The information below applies specifically to students majoring in Oceanography or Aquatic & Fishery Sciences. Both majors are "open admission" degree programs, so if you know you would like to declare your major in one of the two Schools, you may either do that on your UW Admissions application or by contacting the adviser in the major you would like to declare. It is recommended that you do so as soon as possible
